Japan is in Turmoil

A mysterious storm has ravaged Japan, leaving a dark cloud covering the entire country. Power plants are being sabotaged causing brown outs and leaving the nights a thing of nightmares. People are disappearing while others are found dead in the streets. Crime is on the rise, mortals are fleeing, and the only ones who can stop it are the disciples. Lisa Mikoto is summoned back to her homeland. She does not even get out of the airport before a spawn attacks her. She is not clear on what she must do and has no leads except for a newspaper article about a girl lost for years. She meets a fellow Kami disciple that is reluctant to help at best. On her quest to save the girl, she has an encounter with an evil so ancient it is older than the gods and Titans themselves. Ryan, Jane, Armand, Angie, and Sajaad soon join Lisa when an encounter with Diana proves that even the most powerful of disciples need help. The disciples find themselves on a quest to recover artifacts from Japan’s mythology. They encounter new trials, new spawn, and a power struggle long in the making comes to fruition. They must resolve their personal issues quickly before Japan is lost. The disciples slowly realize that they will need the god’s help this time, because before their time in Japan is over, they will come face to face with a Titan.

Ian Anderson conceives a brilliant concept. – Gary Klinga, Clarion Reviews

FANTASTIC READ!!! Once again we are drawn into the mystical word of disciples an the trails an tribulations they face from the war brought on against the Titians. This book we see the disciple Lisa Miskoto featured as she returns to her homeland in Japan.

I enjoyed seeing Lisa solo during the first half of the book an was excited when her group of disciples appeared with her in the second half.

As always I am in awe of how well Ian Anderson weaved this story an sucked me in. I devoured all it within a couple of hours. The writing is descriptive an the details shared of acestary of each creature, god/goddess, disciples always astounds me. How he can keep it straight is baffling. Brilliantly written!!!

I can't WAIT for the next book!!!

Modern Disciples Vol. 3
By I. S. Anderson

The story is about 6 disciples Lisa, Jane, Ryan, Angie, Sajaad, and Armand. The story starts in Florida with Lisa and Armand. Lisa is soon jetting off to Japan. In Japan Lisa meets up with another disciple, this time a daughter of Aphrodite. Lisa also meets a disciple of another one of the Japanese Gods. Even though Lisa starts the journey in Japan alone however the other disciples in her group soon join her…

This Story is told from Lisa’s POV this time. Unlike the last book I could really relate to Lisa and her issues. This story brings you in and gives you a better understanding of how it feels to be the daughter a daughter of a God. The story is well developed and I really enjoyed it! This book is a page turn and really draws you in. This book has more adventure and shows you more mythical creatures than the first two. I think anyone who likes stories of Gods and myths will really enjoy this book.
Anderson really threw a curve ball in Volume three of the Modern Disciples. He continues on with the theme of mythology, but this one is all about Japan. And, what's so great is that he once again has the opportunity to gain a wider range of audience because fans of Anime and Magna will find it to be captivating, too. Of course, not all books are required to be read in succession, but just in case you've been living under a rock, and haven't experienced Anderson's previous works, it's still a bright idea to start at the beginning so one can fully grasp the author's wicked mind, and unusual creations. It's terrifying, sometimes funny, and completely evident that he has done his homework on Japanese culture. Action-packed, and paced just perfectly; readers will be amazed by this special gift of imagination which the writer possesses.
The third and my personal favorite of the Modern Disciples books. It's a rarity these days that an author can keep up the good pace after putting out some breakthrough works, but Ian Anderson is an exception to this and has managed to successfully keep all his stories captivating and well-written time and time again. I love these books because of the unique mixtures of mythological and theological elements added into action packed plots. The author is not only knowledgeable about the topics he chooses to incorporate, but he also knows how to perfectly execute an exciting story through clever sequences of events and twists and turns with these very elements. The dialogues and interactions between characters are unlike anything out there on the market that I have come across, they stay refreshingly new and different every time and never cease to amaze.

Loved every single one of them, can't wait to see some future releases by the author
This is the third in a series of novels about several people who learn that they are the offspring of various ancient gods of antiquity. They also have unique abilities to help them fight non-human evil.

Lisa Mikoto (daughter of the Japanese god Izanagi) travels to a Japan in crisis. An unknown force has put a sort of permanent black cloud over the whole country, cutting Japan off from the sun. Electric power plants have been attacked, leaving electricity sporadic over the whole country. The famous Tokyo nightlife is dead. Anyone who can leave Japan, by any route, is doing so. Those who remain do not go out after sunset, because of carnivorous flying creatures looking for a meal.

Lisa's initial task is to look for a young woman from Texas who vanished, without a trace, several years previously. She is rescued from a sex slavery ring, and put on a plane back to America. The other five members of the group fly to Japan, and join Lisa to find the cause of the black cloud. Many evil creatures are thrown in their way to stop them, or, at least, to slow them down.

A Shinto ceremony will encourage Lisa's sister, the sun goddess Amaterasu, to bring back the sun. An important part of the ceremony is the use of three very old mirrors, from Japanese folklore. The group has to travel considerable distances to get them. Naturally, the mirrors are not exactly in plain sight, just waiting to be found. This leads to more battles with inhuman creatures, including goblins and a giant spider. A major complication in the ceremony happens when the Shinto priest is murdered by the "bad guy" before he can finish. Does the sun return to Japan? Do all members of the group survive?

It's rare when the first three novels in any series are all excellent, but this author has done it. It has plenty of action, and the reader will learn more than they ever wanted to know about Japanese folklore. The reader will not go wrong with this book.
So far Ian is 3 for 3 with his books. It is hard to keep up the quality when you write more than one book.
