Dark. I live and breathe for a novel like that. The darker, the more twisted and sordid, the better. It’s what I crave. Yes I know, I know it’s not for everyone, but for me it’s always a HELL YES.

Cold Cole Heart was a book recommendation so I one clicked instantly.

Dark, twisted, sordid…..That’s what I thought I was going to get, but guys let me tell you this…..

This book not only was nothing short of dark, twisted and sordid, but it was also came with gut wrenching heartache and something that nightmares are made of.
This was more than I ever expected and my dark soul loved every single inch of it.

A psychological thriller that had me holding my breath the whole way through.
A dark romance that is disturbing on every level.
A powerfully written novel full of rawness, grit and sheer terror.
A love like no other.
Pure perfection.

Cold Cole Heart will go down as one of my favs for 2018.

Just perfect.

This is my first K. Webster book.

The cover caught my eye, and the synopsis caught my attention.

But the story............

So not what I was expecting. I was blown away by the truth of this story, the winding road we take through the minds of both our H/h's. It is definitely and 18+ story, it's violent and sad. But also hopeful and sweet at times. And the true evil in this story is not who you think it is. It is the devil in the corner pretending to "care".

I am a fan of books with an "edge" or suspenseful darkness to them. It's like a puzzle to be solved. Can I guess the ending before the author gives it to me? You see glimpses of what's inside Cole, but the truth.............

Well, I'm not going to tell you. You have to read it. And now that I have discovered K. Webster I must move on to the rest of her library. Happy Reading!

When I started this book, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the dark and heavy theme. I've been going through some personal stuff lately and it made me a bit gun-shy for a serious book. Plus I only read a couple books the entire last month, which is practically unheard of for me, and still wasn't entirely in a reading mood. But it is K Webster and her books have not disappointed me yet so I dove right in. And holy crap, you guys, this book is phenomenal.

Cold Cole Heart is so so so good. It is probably my favorite book that I have read so far this year. If you like dark and psychological romances, this book will knock your socks off. I highly recommend it. So much so that I encourage you to drop whatever you are doing and dive right in.

DNF at 16%, Natalie Cole. Cole...Natalie. (Did the author choose the H/h's names as some sort of inside joke? If so, err...okay)

With that...there goes four bucks down the crapper. I had to quit early on, as I definitely don't see this book getting any better. The first red flag was at the beginning, when the male character Cole was referred as 'Captain' by his fellow SEAL team members, at the ripe old age of twenty-one. REALLY???
I could have possibly overlooked that error, but the story only got worse with the H/h's introduction and initial 'cute meet'. Of course, I'm being sarcastic, and I hate the term 'cute meet'...
For me, stories have to make sense, regardless of genre. Characters need to behave and react to situations in a way that makes it believable. 'Cold Cole Heart' defies logic.

*SPOILER*
In real life, a majority of people in Natalie's position run away from an abusive home. In her case, with her staying, she would not like what is being done to her. She would not feel desire or want sex...
* Yet, as soon as she sees Cole's lips in the grocery store, she wants to kiss him...or was it lick his lips? Whatever...not a normal response for a multiple rape victim.
* When Cole later offers her a ride home, the idiot gets into his car, because he is so sexy; she is immediately rendered unconscious by his lil' chloroform hanky.
* While trapped in a tiny bedroom, chained to the bed, Natalie goes from meek and mild to attack mode, all teeth and claws. Then deflates just as fast. Where in the hell did that suddenly come from?
* Of course, she is so taken in by Cole's beautiful lashes and lips, and falls under his spell. You know - because he is so gorgeous. Never mind the fact that he's crazier than she is, and a violent serial killer. He's hot, so it's okay.

Writers need to stop glorifying harmful, disgusting male characters because they are good-looking.
At least, give them some dimension and layers to help readers understand why they are the way they are. I was hoping to get that in this book, but NO. Getting all swoony and horny over these guys from the get-go makes no damn sense. Ugh.
